OTTAWA, ONTARIO – May 3, 2012 - Harris Computer Systems (“Harris”), a leading provider of mission critical software for utilities, local governments, and schools districts, today announced that it has purchased The Local Government Solutions (“LGS”) division of Lender Processing Services, Inc.
LGS consists of two groups: Aptitude, located in Maitland, FL and True Automation, located in Plano, TX. Aptitude is a leading provider of Country Recorder products. True Automation is a leading provider of Computer Aided Mass Appraisal (“CAMA”) solutions. Both business units will continue to operate in their current offices and will be part of Harris’ Public Sector and Schools Group.
Jerry Canada, President of Harris’ Public Sector and School Group noted “The acquisition of LGS fits perfectly with our long-term Public Sector strategy. The Recorder products represent a new product category for Harris. Aptitude’s products are a nice complement to a number of the county level solutions we already offer. True Automation’s CAMA solutions will strengthen our position in that important product category. We have acquired a very experienced group of employees and many long-term, loyal customers."
Harris will continue to develop, service and support the LGS product suites from the current offices of both business units. “We are very pleased to have added two groups that I believe we contribute to our success over the long-term.” said Canada.
